Nearly seventy-five years ago the foundation of this practice was formed by Dr. Paul Mecray, Sr. Located at 405 Cooper Street in Camden, NJ, a stylish address in those days, Dr. Mecray was the quintessential doctor of that era. Office visits cost $1.00 and home visits cost $2.00. Of course his horse and carriage were ready at all times for whatever emergency arose. In fact, Dr. Mecray developed such an impeccable reputation for his services, the great Enrico Caruso was under Dr. Mecray’s care during a recording session at the famous RCA studios in Camden, NJ.
In 1939, Dr. Paul Mecray, Jr., joined his father in the family practice. By 1951, Dr. Eugene Kain joined Dr. Mecray, Jr. In 1970, Dr. Louis Pierucci, Jr., joined Surgical Group of South Jersey. These doctors developed a reputation for outstanding service and commitment to their patients – a commitment that remains to this day.
